Where is our future going and how do I make a difference?
I am sitting here this Sunday afternoon with a clean house, a sleeping child, and not crap on tv. And as I was pondering what I should do, it hit me. My ignorance about politics and the presidential candidate race smacked me in the face like a ton of bricks. I began frantically searching the internet for facts on the candidates. I am beginning to realize how important this is to my family and my life. I have always considered myself a republican with conservative views. I hate war, but it is necessary and it has always and will always be a part of civilization. I stand behind my husband and his decision to be a soldier. That is our way of life. It has been amazing having a president like President Bush who supports the things we believe in. Now I sit here reading the bios and issues of all the nominees and I am just confused... I don't know enough about a single one to make an informed, intelligent decision of who to support. I have a friend whose blog I love to read and she is soooo supportive of Duncan Hunter. I have read some info on him today and from what I read, I like him. But I really don't think there is any way that he will get on the ticket. He is hardly even mentioned as a possibility here. There is not a single candidate that I agree 100% with on their issues. So, at this point, I should choose the most compatible candidate. Who the heck is that? It is sooo important this year. Our servicemen and women and their families are at stake here... And not to mention everything else that this election represents. I need some serious help and insight here... I am interested in hearing what everyone elses opinions and views are on this subject. Please comment.

The Future of this country is at a crossroads. We are do far off track in so many different areas. I fear that it will get worse before it gets better. Choose wisely. Some of the candidates are great but it boils down to $$$$. The most interesting thing I have heard or read in the past few months about the candidates was when Huckabee won the Iowa Caucus and came out with this quote. " I do not fight(run) because I hate those in front of me(democrats). I fight(run) because I love those behind me(the American People).
I really was impressed by that. I fear that the candidates from the left will push for such big changes and win because so many people are unhappy with our current president instead of doing what it right for the American people.
