Well, this Saturday rolls around and she is not quite as excited about her game. She was more excited about me french braiding her hair. However, there were NO tears! She sat on the sideline with her friends when she was not in the game (at one point she was laid out on the grass with her arms crossed behind her head... she looked like she was soaking up some rays). She listened to her coach and did whatever he told her. Literally. The coach would yell for her to come here. She would. And then she would stay there until he told her to move somewhere else. Even if the ball was WAY on the other side of the field with her entire team, she stood where the coach had brought her. It was hilarious. Had I brought my camera, every picture would have been with her by herself on an empty field. Towards the end of the game, she was getting the idea that she needed to follow the ball wherever it went. The other kids actually kicked the ball off her cleats a couple of times. We decided that we would consider it as a kick.
Not sure if we have a future soccer star on our hands, but man, it sure is fun to watch. We were so proud of her for getting on the field this week and playing... more stories to come.
