The Never Ending Holidays

Well, I believe they are finally over!! I thought it would never end. We made our way down to Round Rock the weekend before Christmas to spend with Jacob's family, then back up I-35 home to Midlothian for Christmas Day at our house. Jacob created a FUN Christmas tree for us this year. He did not want to do the traditional boring tree that I normally do. (Actually, he thinks its boring because its not like his moms tree!!!) So, he went out and bought and all white tree with LED lights and bought all pink, purple, green, and blue ornaments. It actually turned out really good. Garrett did not believe that this tree was his dads idea because it looked so girly!! Christmas was good at home with the kids. Jacob's mom came over and we just had a relaxed Christmas morning with a great big breakfast! Trinity got her "Rockstar Barbie" and Garrett got some Piratology things he likes.... and they got a whole bunch more stuff that I can't even remember... After a nice, relaxing day it was then back down south that night on the dreaded I-35 to New Braunfels until Thursday...Whew, I am sick of travelling. It was well worth it though to spend time with our families and to welcome my new little nephew into the world on Christmas Day. My sister had her third (yes, that is 3 kids!!) on Christmas day. It put a hiccup in the plans, but we'll forgive the little guy!! He was the best gift any of us could have had. At least he didn't come on the 23rd because we already have 4 people with that birthday on the calendar. He is absolutely precious!!! I love him so much already! All the kids were so cute together opening presents and playing so well. The smart Aunt Jamie got the girls Hannah Montana wigs for Christmas. Can I just say HILARIOUS! Trinity loves it! Now she can sing, dance, and look like Hannah... she's in heaven. Man, I need a video camera! So... The holidays didn't end there. Jeremy and Brandy (Jacob's brother and his wife) were in town from Alabama for the holidays. We got a babysitter for the weekend and decided to try to hang like we used to. I mean, it was our anniversary... So, 2 nights, 4 hangovers, and several hundred dollars later, we made it back to Midlothian... Just in time for the most uneventful New Years Eve in my life... We sat on the couch with Trinity (recovering) and watched new years on tv like old people. We didn't even call any friends over, or even crack a bottle of wine or beer... just sat there waiting for it to be over... Ahhh... and it finally was.
I was actually ready to go back to work on Wednesday. Looking forward to starting fresh and new!! And then we got sick... I took Trinity to the doctor today and she had double ear infections and possible pink eye!! and I have a throat infection... man, I just want things to be normal again... I want to get up in the morning (not too early) and go to work and not live out of a suitcase for a little while! Whew...
