We went for a walk the other day and I took the camera to show you how close we are to the water. This is actually on our street about a block or two down. This is not the Gulf side of the island, it is the Bay, but we are REALLY close to the water. It is really pretty here.
Then, the other night when a cold front was blowing in, it got a little scary to be on an island. First of all, it was around 75 degrees that afternoon and I had promised Trinity we would go to the beach for a little while to play in the sand. I pulled up to the beach head on and this is what I saw. It was really rough and scary! The part where we usually play in the sand was completely wet and partly under water... I was like HOLY CRAP. We aren't going to the beach today. Trinity cried the whole way home! Then that night it got SO windy. It was blowing the top off our hot tub and making scary noises all night long. Man, I would hate to be here during a hurricane. But it is another beautiful day today with the sun shining. Much better than being in ice right now!!
This is taken from my car window and no zoom lens... Where the birds are is where T normally plays.

Love these shots - you're so close to the water! Enjoy it - I'm jealous. Erika lived in Corpus for awhile and liked it - I hope you love it!
